  1. Hi Bobbi,

The Tattooist of Auschwitz is on my TBR list. Did you enjoy it? I'm fascinated with stories that take place during this time period. People then were amazingly brave and strong. I've read one of your read-a-likes: We Were The Lucky Ones. I loved it! I remember the author talked about how the entire book is based on her actual family's history, and she only just learned about it when she was doing a school project in high school. If I remember right, Georgia Hunter has a blog that chronicled her research for the book. It was all so interesting to read!

    2. Sara,

This one has been on my list for awhile. I'm so glad I finally read it. It is so incredibly sad and so amazingly hopeful. I found myself thinking, I hope I would be this brave if I needed to! I highly recommend this one.

We Were the Lucky Ones is on my TBR list. I will make sure to do that one soon. Thank you for sharing the blog, I did not realize that!! I am definitely checking it out.

  2. I was just thinking about reading this book! I must pass it in the stacks about a dozen times a day. I would be worried it would crush my soul too much for me to read it. Do you think I should still go for it? I feel like this book is heartbreaking with smatterings of love, which would make it a precious kind of read. What is your opinion?

    1. This is the kind of book I am so glad I read, but I will never read again. If that makes sense. I have a few like this, ones that I am truly glad I took the journey on, albeit a painful one. I thought it had enough hopefulness and love in it to make it worth the read and to save me from feeling complete despair. If you decide to go for it, let me know what you thought!

    2. Thank you for your honesty! I'll read the first bit of it and if it's too much, I'll just shelve it.
